Well, we have been officially in "wait" mode for 10 weeks now. While 10 weeks does not sound like long it has been a very loooong 10 weeks! I grossly underestimated how challenging the "wait" was going to be. I mean, if you have been waiting for something for 5 years then you wouldn't think another 2 weeks to a year would be a big deal. WRONG! For those of you who have actively "tried" to get pregnant you can certainly remember the "2 week wait". That's pretty much how I'm feeling except it has gone way past two weeks. Don't get me wrong, I am still very encouraged and excited. I am just not good at being patient and I am becoming very aware of that character flaw. We had a possible match a few weeks ago but that birth mother decided to go with another family. We were bummed but at the same time we want everyone involved in the situation to be 100% at peace with decisions being made.
I decided a couple of weeks ago that I needed some hobbies (other than shopping) to occupy my waiting time. The first hobby I have taken up is teaching myself to play the piano. I am surprisingly not too bad. I of course have to give all the credit to my Mac and the program garage band! This last week I decided I would finally get back into golf and get back out to the driving range. That has not gone near as well as the piano, and there is definitely a lot more foul language involved but it was still fun. Oh, and I have been most excited about my new home cleaning tools. I purchased the Shark steam mop and Shark handheld steam cleaner! They are awesome and I have passed a lot of time cleaning!
Just thought I would give a little update on what has and hasn't been happening. We know it will and we continue to pray for God's timing and for peace for the birth family in the decisions they face. Thank you again to everyone who continues to pray for our situation! I will return as soon as there is something noteworthy to share. Who knows, maybe I'll have a piano concert some day soon!

As an experienced "waiter" I can tell you on a positive note your profile must be appealing to birth mothers or you would not have already had a possible match. If you are being considered after only 10 weeks, it is a good sign your wait will most likely not be very long. Hang in there.
