Home Study!!

Well, it's been a very busy past couple of weeks at the Throckmorton home.  We have been working on our Home study.  Working on this thing reminds me of homework and also reminds me why I hated homework.  The good news, we are done with the paperwork!  The bad news, we are done with the paperwork, meaning we now have the home visit left to go.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't terrified of the home visit.

There's nothing more exciting than someone coming into to your home to question you and ensure your home is suitable for children.  (That was sarcasm, in case you don't know me.)  The exciting thing for us is that at the end of next week we will be done with the Home study!  We will then enter the "waiting period" and hope it's not a long one.  There's a reason God made pregnancy nine months.  That way you have time to get things in order.  Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a bit (ok, maybe a lot) OCD and I am a HUGE planner.  I'm excited beyond words but I will be the first to admit that when the agency told us the wait could be anywhere from two days to a year I had some heart palpitations!

Well, I just wanted to provide a little update on where we are in the process now.  I will post again after the home visit (if we survive).  We also have our newborn care class Monday.  And NO we did not volunteer to go learn how to change diapers, our agency "suggested" we attend.  That's equivalent to your boss "suggesting" you stay late to work on a project!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will be back next week!

  1. It's not as bad as you think. Our social worker just sat down on our sofa and visited with us, it was easy and comfortable.
